With an aim to develop Punjab as a preferred state for film shooting, production and post production an important session on 'Media and Entertainment' was organised during the first Tourism Summit and Travel Mart. 

The experts associated with the film industry described Punjab as the perfect fit to be emerged as a preferred destination for shooting films.The session was attended by top experts from the country from the field of film and entertainment. 

The session was attended by Ramoji Film City Vice President Publicity A.V. Rao, Chief Technology Officer, Annapurna Studios CV Rao, Iqbal Cheema from Punjab Film City, renowned Punjabi film director/writer Amberdeep Singh, EMMA President Samit Garg, Imagica CFO Mayuresh Kore, Punjabi film actress Sargun Mehta and film director Bobby Bedi.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann himself has been associated with the film sector, he is inclined to make Punjab a leading state for film shooting. The Punjab government is working as per the demand of the filmmakers to make Punjab the number one state for all types of shooting.

The session discussed the possibilities of further development of the film industry here keeping in view the rich heritage, heritage buildings and places of Punjab, the colorful culture and the natural beauty of Punjab. Talking about the immense potential in Punjab for the entertainment industry, it was emphasised that there are many options available in the state for shooting films.

Apart from this, due to the reputation of the Punjabi music industry all over the world, the state is rapidly developing as a favorite place for all types of shooting. Apart from this, now the work of post-production in Punjab is also emerging rapidly.

With many Indian and foreign films being shot in Punjab, many filmmakers are now showing interest in shooting in Punjab and the state government is providing all possible help to them.Apart from this, many actors of Punjab have earned reputation at national and international films. There is no dearth of skills and art in Punjab. 

Punjabi films are also becoming of high quality in terms of technology and art at present. The actors and technical experts who come to Punjab for the shooting of films do not live without being convinced of the hospitality, love, affection and respect of Punjab.

Experts said that the food of Punjab is also excellent while the visits to religious places has high reverence among people, give healing touch to the soul as well as the places full of historical and natural beauty for tourism make life pleasant.

According to the demand of films, Punjab is a state where every season of nature can be enjoyed. Inviting the film industry to shoot in Punjab, the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann-led government has assured all the filmmakers and production houses that this blessed land will provide all kinds of facilities to the filmmakers.
