Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Jammu under leadership of Director, IIM Jammu, Prof BS Sahay, hosted an interactive session with Prof Vishanth Weerakkody, Professor and Associate Dean, University of Bradford, UK at its Canal Road Campus today. 

The today’s session was held for IPM students while a similar session was held yesterday for research scholars.The Dean of Academics, IIM Jammu welcomed Professor Vishanth and emphasised the importance of publishing in top-tier journals. 

He discussed research opportunities and studying abroad. He also mentioned IIM Jammu’s growth and plans for a conference on Circular Economy with the University of Bradford. The two institutions will collaborate in key areas to promote knowledge sharing, academic excellence and sustainable development worldwide.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof Vishanth Weerakkody gave an overview of his institution and emphasised the importance of academic publications. He discussed new technology such as blockchain and shared real-life examples. 

He mentioned a growing need for social scientists and invited research scholars to present papers at an upcoming conference at his university. He also stressed the goal of creating an inclusive community through responsible management education and research.

Chairperson International Relations, IIM Jammu, Dr Sarbjit Singh, also attended the session.The interactive session was followed by a Q&A and was coordinated by the Research Office at IIM Jammu.
