To improve their basic skills and professional knowledge, District Health Society Doda on Sunday organised a one day CME cum workshop on Anemia Mukt Bharat (AMB) health care professionals here at Block Assar.

The event was held as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and presided over by Chief Medical Officer, Dr Abdul Hamid Zargar. The programme aims to strengthen the existing mechanism and foster newer strategies for tackling anemia in the District.

Dr A H Zargar stressed upon all the participants to put in extra efforts to provide Iron Folic Acid supplements to maximum number of beneficiaries and conduct regular visits for successful implementation of the programme at grossroots level.

He said that ABM campaign aims to bring a behavioural change among people towards healthy living and to reduce the prevalence of anaemia by different percentage points per year among children, adolescents and women of reproductive age group from 15-49 years. 

DPM NHM Jahangir Mehta presented the PPT on the subject & covered all the aspects of AMB, while Mohammad Shafi Attu (HE) conducted the proceedings of the event. 

The programme was attended by BMO Assar, Dr Tanveer Ahmed & Medical Officers, Paramedics including MLHPs, ANMs, BHWs, Pharmacists, ASHA Facilitators of Block Assar. 

Umar Khan, Rishi Pandita, Jonson Chandail, Ashiq Hussain, Mohd Faheem Butt, Om Parkash Shan and Faizan A Tramboo from DHS Doda were also present.
