Deputy Commissioner Doda Krishan Lal today chaired a meeting to review the preparations for the smooth and successful celebration of Independence Day 2026 in the district. During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned officers to ensure that all necessary arrangements at the main venue, Sports Stadium Doda, are completed well in advance.
He stressed the importance of close coordination among all departments to ensure the successful and dignified conduct of the national event. The Deputy Commissioner instructed the Executive Officer, Municipality Doda, to ensure proper sanitation and cleanliness at the venue and its surrounding areas.
The Executive Engineer, PDD Doda, was directed to make arrangements for uninterrupted power supply and illumination of all important Government buildings, bridges and the main celebration venue. The Information Department was directed to ensure the installation of a proper Public Address System for the smooth conduct of the function.
The Chief Education Officer and the District Cultural Officer were directed to oversee cultural programmes and other ceremonial activities showcasing the patriotic spirit and rich cultural heritage of the district. The Jal Shakti Department was instructed to ensure the availability of adequate drinking water facilities at the venue.
The concerned officers were also directed to ensure the proper display of National Flag in accordance with the Flag Code of India. The Deputy Commissioner further reviewed arrangements related to felicitation of distinguished individuals and presentation of awards during the function.
The Police Department was directed to make comprehensive security, traffic regulation and parking arrangements to ensure the safety and convenience of participants and the general public. The Chief Medical Officer, Doda, was instructed to ensure adequate medical facilities, including deployment of medical teams, ambulance services and emergency healthcare arrangements at the venue.
Besides, directions were issued to the concerned departments to make adequate arrangements for seating, stage decoration, barricading, refreshments for participants and all other essential services to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the Independence Day celebrations.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized timely completion of all assigned tasks and directed officers to maintain close coordination for the successful conduct of the celebrations. The meeting was attended by ADC Doda, ASP Doda, SE PWD R&B Doda, SE Jal Shakti Doda, CPO Doda, ACR Doda ACD Doda, CMO Doda, ACP Doda, XEN R&B Doda, CAHO Doda, DSHO Doda, Tehsildar Doda, AO DC Office Doda, EO Municipality Doda, Officers/ Officials from CRPF, IRP, DYSSO, Culture Office, Education Department and concerned departments.
