The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) welcomed Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's decision to shut down the Zira liquor factory and said that the AAP government will always stand with the farmers of Punjab.

Addressing the media on Wednesday at Chandigarh party headquarters along with party's senior leader and spokesperson Neil Garg and Govinder Mittal, Harchand Singh Barsat said that this decision of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has again proved that the Aam Aadmi Party's Punjab government has been protesting the rights of the common people and it is a pro-farmers government.

Likewise, AAP spokesperson Neel Garg said that no decision is impossible if there is political will and the government is honest. He said that party welcomes this decision of CM Bhagwant Mann. "Our Chief Minister himself comes from a farmer's family, so he knows and understands the pain and suffering of the farmers very well."

He said that the Chief Minister has taken several historic decisions earlier also to save the environment and water of Punjab. A few days after becoming the Chief Minister, he appealed to the farmers to do direct sowing of paddy to save water in Punjab and encouraged the farmers by giving them financial help.

Similarly, CM Mann scrapped the proposed Textile Park scheme in the Mattewara forest. Now he has shown his commitment towards Punjab's agriculture and environment by taking the decision to close the Zira liquor factory, the AAP spokesperson added.
