Divisional level Kala Utsav 2022-23 concludes

200 students from across Jammu Division display their talent at 3-day event

Divisional level Kala Utsav 2022-23, organized by the Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ), concluded here today at Teacher Bhawan, Jammu.Around 200 students displayed their talent over the last three days starting from 21st of November 2022.

The winners of district level competition participated in the divisional level contest in 10 different art forms - Vocal Music (Classical),Vocal Music ( folk),Instrumental Music (Percussion), Instrumental music (Melody ), Dance ( classical),Dance ( Traditional), Visual art (2D),Visual art (3d),Traditional Toys and Games and in Solo Acting category.

The winners of the Divisional Level Competition are Master Hanish Rasotra from district Kathua amongst males and Bharti Devi from district Kathua amongst females in Vocal Music Folk category; Master Sahil Kumar from district Kathua and Gayatri Kandle from district Jammu in Vocal Music Classical category; Master Aman from Uhampur and Ruby from district Kathua in Instrumental Music (Percussion ) category; Balwant Raj from district  Ramban and Aahana Sharma from Kathua in Instrumental Music (Melodic) category; Nikhil Kumar from district Udhampur and Heena Rajput from Kathua in Dance Classical category; Vishal kumar, Kathua and Kavita Devi from Ramban in Dance Traditional/ Folk Category;  Mohit khajuria, Jammu and Kiran Devi , Reasi in indigenous toy making and games category; Master Shahzaib Qayoom from district Poonch and Mantesha from district Ramban in Visual Art 2D category, Dheeraj Gouria from district Doda and Ritika from Samba in 3D Sculpture, Rahul Andotra from district Kathua and Tanushi from district Udhampur in Solo Acting - Drama Category. These 20 winners will now compete at the UT level Kala Utsav Competition.

Speaking at the valedictory function, Director School Education Jammu, Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma congratulated the winners and wished them good luck for the coming UT level competition. He said that the Kala Utsav is a platform for the students to display their talents and harness them to succeed in various fields of fine arts which nowadays are providing very good career options.

Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma appreciated the team Cultural and Education Cell DSEJ for organising the event in an exceptional manner and asked them to keep working hard in future as well so that the students can gain maximum benefit out of such events and activities.

Amongst others, the event was graced by Joint Director Ms. Subah Mehta, Deputy Director( Planning) Ms. Mamata Sharma, CEO Jammu Mr. Suraj Singh Rathore and Deputy CEO Jammu.
