Director Agriculture Production & Farmers Welfare, Jammu, K.K. Sharma inaugurated today the newly installed advanced version of Gas Chromatography machine in the Pesticide Testing Laboratory, Krishi Bhawan, Jammu.

Speaking on the occasion, Director Agriculture emphasized to further strengthen the capacity of all Laboratories to ensure improved quality analysis of various inputs viz pesticides and fertilizers in the best interest of farmers. 

He said that this new machine will ensure the analysis of pesticide samples with enhanced capacity of pesticide Testing Laboratory. Farmers will be ultimately benefited by this initiative, He said.It was informed  that  new machine is equipped with the features like auto sampler, batch analysis of upto 10-12 number of samples at a time ,analysis of combination molecules, ramp setting etc.  

It was also apprised that the pesticide testing targets shall be reviewed/increased in near future.Those present on the occasion included   Aman Jyoti Sharma, Agriculture Chemist, Jammu; Pradeep Kumar Sharma, Assistant Agriculture Chemist; Neeraj Rajwal, Assistant Soil Chemist; Dr. Dolly John, Agriculture Bio Chemist, besides FQCL and analysts.
