Hartek Solar Pvt Ltd, the rooftop solar division of the Chandigarh-based Hartek Group, one of the top solar rooftop installers in India, has installed a 525 KW capacity solar power plant in the holiest of Sikh shrines, Harmandir Sahib, popularly known as Golden Temple, in Amritsar. The scope of work of the project included complete site survey, design, engineering, supply and construction of the solar plant. This project was awarded to Hartek Solar by a US based NGO, United Sikh Mission.  The solar PV project will generate more than 7,40,000 units of clean electricity every year, thus offsetting around 2,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.
