In a big reprieve to the people of weaker and underprivileged sections of the society, the Punjab Scheduled Caste Land Development and Finance Corporation has disbursed loans worth Rs 1.94 crore to 172 beneficiaries for starting their ventures.Kick-starting the distribution of the loan sanction letters to some of the beneficiaries in a simple function organized adhering to Covid protocols, Political Advisor to CM-Punjab Capt. Sandeep Singh Sandhu said that under the visionary and dynamic leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, the Corporation has distributed loans to the tune of Rs 20.33 crore (including Rs 1.50 crore subsidy) to 2093 beneficiaries in 2020-21 and Rs 17.81 crore to 1947 beneficiaries during 2019-20 to help the needy and underprivileged populace under its various scheme. He further added that to mark the 400th Parkash Purab of Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and completion of 50 years of the formation of the corporation as many as 2093 beneficiaries have been provided with loan Rs. 20.33 Crore including subsidy of Rs. 1.50 Crore. Notably, Covid-19 safety protocols were followed sucruplously.

Mr. Sood requested Captain Sandeep Sandhu to take up the matter of introducing a loan waiver scheme for deceased beneficiaries besides launching one time settlement policy and bank tie-up scheme for their dependents, with Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. He appealed to the people to take benefit of the loan and Bank Tie-up schemes of the Corporation.Punjab Scheduled Caste Land Development and Finance Corporation Mohan Lal Sood said that the state government has given a major relief to the people belonging to poor and underprivileged section by waving the loans up to Rs 50000 for becoming self-dependent by starting their businesses.He said that now loans worth Rs one lakh can be approved by district managers and further shelved out the verification of loans up to Rs 2 lakh. He also highlighted the captain government's decision to extend ownership benefits to poor people whose lands fall under the Lal Lakir.Prominent among present occasion including Vice-chairman Dr. Ram Lal Jassi, MC Mullanpur Chief Telu Ram Bansal, Vice-president Karanvir Singh Sekhon, DM Gurwinder Singh, and others.
