District Development Commissioner, Dr. Sagar D Doifode today handed over motorized tricycles (Scooties), prosthetic aid (walking sticks & Wheel Chairs) to Eleven specially-abled persons of district, here at a distribution camp organized by district Social Welfare Department.Speaking on the occasion, the DDC said that the Specially-abled persons are the part of the society and every individual should assure their well being.He said that the aid like motorized tricycles will empower the specially-abled persons and enable them to live in society with dignity and honor.Dr. Sagar D Doifode also interacted with Specially-abled persons and hailed the efforts of social welfare department towards socio-economic welfare of different sections of the society. He further complimented the department for organizing the motorized tricycle distribution camp amid COVID-19 pandemic.The DDC said that efforts are afoot to provide opportunities and proper facilities to specially-abled persons and children to empower them so that they can realize their dreams and aspirations. He motivated them to avail the benefits under various self employment schemes of Central and UT Government.District Social Welfare Officer, Zubair Ahmed Lone, TSWO Gandoh, Touseef Zargar, TSWO Doda Babu Ram besides other officials were present.
