To draw roadmap for effective implementation of Manodarpan, an initiative of MHRD offering Psychological support to students, parents, teachers during COVID times and beyond, Directorate of School Education Jammu organised an online Consultation of Psychological Task Force under the patronship of Director School Education, Anuradha Gupta.Principals, District institute of education and training (DIETs), District Nodal Officers for counselling at DIETS , District counselling coordinators, Zonal counselling coordinators  and teacher counsellors of Jammu Division participated in the online consultation. Head Counselling Cell DSEJ, Romesh Kumar Sharma, was the key speaker.The Director emphasised on quantifying targets and working on professionalizing counselling services for students. She said that counselling cells should make their reach to every student.Addressing PTF members, DNOs, DCCs and ZCCs, she asked them to set quantifiable targets and specify their area of interest so that right person is assigned right job at the right time to achieve the set targets.

Head Counselling Cell DSEJ, Romesh Kumar Sharma, in his key speech, explained in detail the MHRD initiatives like Manodarpan, recently launched toll free helpline, counselling cell DSEJ initiatives for ensuring well being of the masses and roadmap to implement them on ground. He motivated the Psychological Task Force members to work tirelessly to develop a counselling model for the whole nation. He touched upon topic viz Job profile of DCCs and ZCCs, institutionalization of  Psychological laboratories at DIETs, upscaling Aao Baat Karein Telecounselling Helpline, revamping  counselling Cells functioning in schools, Counselling Calender, Counselling component in weekly Home Assignments,  organizing webinar on Counselling themes, Individual targets for PTF members and liaison between DNOs, DCCs and ZCCs.Pertinently, Counselling cell at Directorate of school education Jammu has undertaken a lot of initiatives like constituting psychological task force, nominating district and zonal counselling coordinators, starting tele-counselling helpline for psychosocial support, launch of counselling calendar, including counselling activities in DSEJ home assignments ,organizing webinars on Well-being themes  recently  which are very much in line with the objectives of Manodarpan.The webinar was moderated by Alka Sharma, Team Counselling Cell DSEJ in her versatile manner whereas Shanti Saroop Sharma and Shveta Sharma helped in its proper conduct. Sohail Wani, an active member of IT JKKN provided technical support.
