A meeting of National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development (NABARD) officials and Officers of SKUAST-Jammu was today held  here at the Vice Chancellor’s Secretariat to discuss the status of ongoing projects and fresh proposal to be submitted to NABARD for funding under  technology transfer fund.The meeting, convened with strict observance of COVID-19 SOPs and guidelines, was chaired by Prof. J.P. Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST- Jammu.  Chief General Manager NABARD UT of J&K and UT of Ladakh, R K Srivistava, was Co-chairman.During the meeting, Prof. J.P. Sharma desired for preparing concept note of potential areas for submitting to NABARD for funding. He stressed upon  quality planting material production under protected conditions, development of organic cluster with credibility of product, developing strategies for  increasing share of GDP in agriculture to 40% in J&K, value addition, adoption of Integrated Farming System, processing, branding and linkage of  marketing channel for proper disposal of farm produce, more emphasis towards profitability, development of processing center at each KVK’s, up  scaling and out scaling of farmers led innovations, formation of commodity based FPO in each district.The Chief General Manager, NABARD, UT of J&K and UT of Ladakh, R K Srivistava, stressed upon submission of project proposal under technology  transfer fund with focused action points. He focused on exploring of new thrust and niche areas like GI tagging of identified commodities, Hydroponic  fodder production, Dairy technology, Poultry production, Honey bee rearing, development of local breed of cows followed by building of people’s  institution.Earlier, Dr R K Gupta, Director Research SKUAST-Jammu formally welcomed all the delegates in the meeting and appraised them about the status of  different undergoing as well as fresh project proposal being run in collaboration with NABARD Jammu.Dr S K Gupta director Extension, Dr Deepak Kher, Director Planning and monitoring, Dr S K Gupta, Director Education, Dr D P Abrol, Dean Faculty of  Agriculture, Rajesh Talwar, Comptroller SKUAST-J, Dr Rajesh Katoch Dean Student Welfare, Dr Jyoti Kachroo Head Division of Agriculture Economics  and ABM, Dr Amrish Vaid Nodal Officer Mega seed Projects, Sr Punit Choudhary Sr Scientist and Head KVK Jammu,  Anamika DGM, Priya Ranjan  AGM, Arnab Pramanik Manager and Mr Nikhil Sharma Asst Manager, PI of different NABARD funded projects also participated in the meeting.
