In a rare distinction eight Police officers of the district including one Deputy Superintendent of Police, one Assistant Commissioner of Police, two Inspectors, two head constables and two constables working on the frontline during the curfew in wake of Covid 19 would be awarded with Director General of Police’s honour and  Disc for Exemplary Seva to Society’.The awardees including Deputy Superintendent of Police Mr. Sarabjit Singh Rai, Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr. Om Parkash, Inspectors Mr. Rajesh Kumar and Mr. Jarnail Singh, Mr. Avtar Singh, Mr. Jaswant Singh, Mr. Jasvir Singh and Mr. Mangat Ram had been selected for the second award list after meticulous screening and examination of the various nominations sent by the Commissioners of Police and SSPs to recognize the exceptional work done by Punjab Police and other officials working on the front lines of the COVID-19 operations and response activities in the state.Meanwhile, Deputy Superintendent of Police Mr. Sarabjit Rai, posted in Special Branch Jalandhar (Rural) Police, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr. Om Parkash, posted in Special Branch and Criminal Intelligence Jalandhar Commissionerate Police, expressed their gratitude to the Director General of Police for choosing them for coveted award. Both of them said that they were overwhelmed at being chosen for the rare honour. They further said that this award has filled them with a renewed zeal to serve the society. Both the officers also thanked the Commissioner of Police Mr. Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and Senior Superintendent of Police Mr. Navjot Singh Mahal for giving them valuable guidance in performing their duty efficaciously.
