Bridges of Sangrur constructed on the National Highway 7, spreading ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ compaign’s message through colours. Crafted with a variety of colorful touches, these large-scale graffitis revealing the success stories of the inspirational personalities like boxer Mary Kom, cricketer Harmandeep Kaur and young activist Malala Yousufzai.These graffitis crafted on 4 bridges of Sangrur, is a unique initiative of Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ghanshyam Thori in this district. Craft work on 3 bridges has been completed. Now these bridges are becoming centre of attraction for the people. Bridges on the National Highway 7 near Bhawanigarh, near Faguwala, the bridge, about 7 km from Sangrur city and the bridge near Badrukhan is spreading message of 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao'. Aim of these graffitis to urge parents to make their daughters independent by providing them education and equal opportunities.Deputy Commissioner Mr. Ghanshyam Thori said that the main purpose of these graffitis is to motivate and inspire other girls to move on and become successful in their life. Providing a respectable place and a safe atmosphere to girls in the society is the duty of all of us. It is a humble initiative for girls to inspire them through the graffitis, he added.Deputy Commissioner also urged to parents to provide higher education and equal opportunities to their daughters, to make ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ mission successful in the district.
