Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao: DC releases table calendar dedicated to 12 leading girls of Sangrur District

Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori today released a table calendar dedicated to 12 leading girls, who have made great strides in the field of education and sports in the district. Releasing the table calendar the presence of concerned girls, their parents and teachers at the district administrative complex, Deputy Commissioner Mr. Thori said that their hard work and dedication will motivate others to achieve their goals. This initiative was taken under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign, Mr. Thori added.The Deputy Commissioner said that the 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' is a special campaign through which efforts are being made at the administrative level to educate the society about social equality and rights of girls. He said that it is also the moral duty of everyone in society to ensure the dignity and respect of the girls in the society. The deputy commissioner said that the pictures of 12 girls studying in government schools have been published in the calendar and details of their significant achievements have been also published so that other girls can be able to take the plunge by taking guidance from these girls.

Mr. Thori said that Lovepreet Kaur, a student of Government Senior Secondary School Dudian has scored 99.55 percent marks in 12th class. Raman Kaur of the Government Senior Secondary School Kheri Chahalan scored 98.30% marks in 10th class. Mandeep Kaur of Senior Secondary School Balaran hs scored 98.30 percent marks in Class 10th. Similarly, Simran Kaur of GHS Dhandial scored 98 percent marks in 10th. Gagandeep Kaur of Government Senior Secondary School Dudian has scored 97.11 percent marks in 12th. Drishti from Senior Secondary School Girls Sangrur got 95.33 percent marks in 12th. These girls have bagged place in the table calendar.He further said that in the field of sports, Lovedeep Kaur, a student of Government Senior Secondary School, Girls Sangrur took first place at the state level competition of Hockey. Students of Government Senior Secondary School Girls Dhuri named Soma and Aashpreet Kaur got first place in state level baseball competition. Gagandeep Kaur of Government Senior Secondary School Akbarpur took third place at the state level boxing competition. Arshdeep Kaur, a student of Government Senior Secondary School Girls Dhuri got third place in the state level boxing competition. Similarly Manjinder Kaur of Government Senior Secondary School Girls Dhuri got third place in state level yoga competition. Pictures of these girls have been published in the calendar to honor them.
