The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today asked Punjab minister Navjot Sidhu not to make empty boasts and take action if there was any irregularity in any tourism project even as it asked if he was going to put tickets at the heritage street in Amritsar as well as other projects to earn a few extra bucks. "We know earning money is of paramount importance to you. You work for money only. Your negligible work in government is limiting to repeating stale one liners and deriding your political opponents. You even abused opposition members in the Vidhan Sabha recently. Expecting you to function normally is expecting too much from you. You must now tell Punjabis if you will demand ending of all subsidies and benefits given to them including the Atta-Daal Scheme & free power subsidy extended to farmers ?".Stating this SAD MP Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa said Navjot Sidhu was behaving like an egomaniac and had become a danger for the Congress government also. "His blood pressure shoots up in a second and he starts abusing and misbehaving with others. He may have got away with this behaviour on the cricket field and the commentary box and even the comedy circus show, but the SAD will hold him to account in the Vidhan Sabha. We will continue to protest against his boorish behaviour and bring him to book", the senior leader added.

Stating it was asking for too much for a profiteer and comedian like Sidhu to work for public good, he said the minister had not made a single contribution in any of his departments of Local Bodies and Tourism till now. "He is busy roaming around and holding inspections during which he likes to lord over officers besides demeaning them for cheap publicity in the media. Sidhu has even stooped to the extent of trying to appropriate the Partition museum project set up by former deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal as a Congress creation. He even announced  that it would be inaugurated soon never mind the fact that it had been inaugurated during SAD-BJP rule. Sidhu even let his ego come in the way to scrap the country's first amphibious bus tourism project at Harike Pattan. The project was aimed at bringing the Harike Pattan wetland and bird sanctuary on the world map. Now Punjab has lost this opportunity". Asking Sidhu to correct his behaviour immediately or be corrected, Mr Dhindsa also asked him to talk less and do more. "You have not made a single contribution to the State till now. Start attending office and doing your work instead of focusing on comedy programmes and publicity stunts", he added.
