The Punjab Government has decided to commence Dr. Ambedkar portal for Post Matric Scholarship for SC’s/BC’s students on 25 August, 2016. Now, eligible candidates should only apply on-line for getting benefits of Post Scholarship.Disclosing this here today, SC/BC Welfare Minister Gulzar Singh Ranike said that aim of Dr. Ambedkar portal is to provide benefits of scholarship to the students in stipulated time and to ensure transparency in the performance of the department. The Punjab Government has provided financial aid to SC’s /OBC’s student after passing matriculation for engineering, Medical, post graduation, degree, diploma , certificate course, veterinary and agricultural studies under various scholarship schemes. He said that non-refundable fees and maintenance allowance has given to the eligible students and these all schemes were being linked with Dr. Ambedkar portal by the State Government.
Welfare Minister further said that the department has issued the time line activity schedule 2016-17 for students. As per schedule, Dr. Ambedkar portal for post matric scholarships has decided to commence on 25 August, 2016 while fresh and continuing students should apply on-line by 30 September, 2016. Further, educational institutes would forward their proposals at district level and approving authority till 15 October,2016 and in order to amend proposals , approving authority ( sanctioning authority ) will revert the incomplete and temporary proposals by 30 October,2016.Divulging more Welfare Minister said that concerned institutes shall propel their amended data to the district and approving authority by 15 November,2016 and approving authority would forward their proposals to the concerned departments by 25 November,2016.Though, implementing departments would forward the final proposals to welfare department by 10 December till 10 pm.
