Former minister and SAD’s general secretary Bikram Singh Majithia along with SAD workers and Sikh Sangat of Majitha constituency today held a thanksgiving function at Gurdwara Janam Asthan Baba Budha ji to show gratitude to the Akal Purkh (the God) for blessing the party with a historical victory in the recently held Zila Prishad and Panchayat Samiti polls.Addressing the Sikh Sangat after bhog of shri akhand path Sahib ji, S. Majithia said that the credit for this historical victory goes to the Sikh Sangat of this constituency and hard working soldiers of the party. He said that it would not have been possible to give the congress a befitting reply in polls if the people of this constituency along with dalits, backward classes had not stood behind the party.Making a scathing attack at the Congress party, the SAD leader said that the congress had used all means of repression by intimidating and threatening the rival candidates as well as misusing the state machinery to ensure victory for its candidates. “But the people of Majitha were not cowed down by the gunda-ism of the ruling party as they gave it a befitting reply by giving their mandate to the deserving candidates” he added. He said that the people of this constituency will teach a lesson to the congress government in 2019 polls for tossing turbans of Sikh and heaping insults and humiliation on Dalits.Speaking about the crop damage due to the incessant rain, S. Majithia demanded Rs.50000 per acre compensation as crop damage for the suffering farmers. He said that the Congress was indulging in petty politics by spreading a rumor about attack on him on the social media. It shows that it does not believe in any kind values which keep us together as society. Others present on the occasion were former minister Gulzar Singh ranike, Raj Mahinder Singh Majitha, Veer Singh Lopoke, MLA Lakhbir Singh Lodhinangal and Dalbir Singh Verka.
