The newly appointed Deputy Commissioner Apneet Riyait today interacted with the media persons of Mansa at Bachat Bhawan today wherein she announce to leave no stone unturned for overall development of district.She said that the district administration is focusing its attention to eradicate the consumption of opium, poppy husk and medicinal drugs which are the root cause of all the problems.Sharing the efforts initiated by the Government of Punjab under Tandarust Mission Punjab, the deputy commissioner said that this mission's motive is not only improving people's health but also to provide a pollution free environment.The Deputy Commissioner also discussed at length about the problems prevailing in the district and urged the people and journalists to help the district administration in bringing a solution.

"We are here to work out modalities to bring a solution to the problems of sewerage, water-logging during rainy season and the issues pertaining to the traffic," she said, adding that the entire district administration will extend a helping hand to the public in this regard.Replying to the media queries about water logging problem she stated that a detailed drainage plan is being prepared by the district administration in this regard which will be sent to the higher authorities in Chandigarh after which funds would be sought for the proper drainage system in Mansa city.She also stated that the orders of cleaning the drains in Mansa district have been passed so that problem emanating from the flooding can be avoided.Seeking public support for eradicating social evils, including the sale and consumption of drugs and setting a trend of creating sports atmosphere in every nook and corner of the district, she urged the media and Mansa residents to extend every possible help to the district administration in this regard.
