With a view to mobilizing the youth of Punjab to join its fight against the drug menace in Punjab, Police Commissionerate, Amritsar in association with Department of Youth Welfare & Cultural Activities of Khalsa College Amritsar organized a cultural event which witnessed the eager and enthusiastic participation of the management, faculty and students of the college.

Mr. Naunihal Singh, Commissioner, Police Commissionerate, Amritsar, presided over the function. Principal Dr. Mehal Singh welcomed the Chief Guest. The scene there was highly inspirational with the enthusiasm of students at joining the Police Commissionerate, Amritsar, in their fight against drugs shining bright and clear through lively cultural performances.

The immaculate decorations and scintillating display of Punjabi culture through the pulsating beats of ‘Bhangra’ and the spirited ‘Giddha’ performances by the Punjabi lads and lasses proved that Punjab is ready to throw drugs out of its culture.

“There couldn’t be a better person than a Punjabi to fight the drug menace. That Punjabis are a force to reckon with has been proved time and again by our brothers and sisters, some of whom are leading the governments of other countries.

The potencies and abilities of Punjabi youth have no unparallel in history. And, if one is an Amritsari, energy and talent comes to us by default, as has, time and again, been proved by many from this city. So, let’s join hands and uproot the drug menace from our state,” said Mr. Naunihal Singh, while addressing the gathering at Khalsa College.
