The creative genius of the students of Northern India Institute of Fashion Technology (NIIFT), Mohali  was at its best as they made forays into global fashion industry attracting international recognition of their out of box designs today in ‘ANUKAMA-2015’ at Tagore Theatre here today. According to an official spokesperson, the graduating students of NIIFT showcased their creative talent during the Annual Design Collection Show ‘ANUKAMA-2015’.  Starting with the opening theme based on ‘Save the Girl Child’, the show progressed to the designs modeled by students on multiple themes, for e.g. --- Phulkari, Ikat, Moroccan Art, Wooden Furniture, Rock Garden, Monsoon, Flowing Water, Chimes, Marvelous Metallic, and Rock Band.The spokesperson further said that the collections of the students were brought to life by supermodels-- Amanpreet Wahi, Shilpa Singh, Hida, Himani Thapa, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Reena, Priyanka Bhau, Aanchal Chaudhary , Anamika Benn, Deepak, Saurav, Vishnu, Gokul and Sumit under the stewardship of Kaushik Ghosh who choreographed the show.

Divulging more details, the spokesperson said that this year the audience got to view two collections designed especially for Tynor Othotics, manufacturer of Orthotic aids in India and main sponsor of the show.Elaborating more, the spokesperson said that Mr. Madan Mohan Mittal, Industries and Commerce, Technical Education & Industrial Training Minister, Punjab, graced the occasion as Chief Guest and gave away the awards to the winners in the various categories.Stating further, the spokesperson said that His Excellency Mr. Larbi Reffouh, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco along with his Wife Mrs. Sabah Kalai Reffouh were the Guests of Honor at the Fashion Show. He said that there was an enormous scope for collaboration in areas of Technical Education, Engineering Industry, Textile & Apparel and Agro Industry.

On the occasion, Mr. Anirudh Tewari, IAS, Chairman, NIIFT and Principal Secretary, Department of Industries and Commerce, Punjab presided over the function. Mr. S.R. Ladhar, IAS, Director General, NIIFT, Mohali, Sh. P.J Singh, MD, Tynor Orthotics along with Mr. A. J Singh were also present. Others present during the occasion were Sh. K.S Brar, Director NIIFT, Sh. Inderjit Singh, Registrar, Dr.Poonam Thakur, Academic Head, Dr. Simrita Singh, Show Coordinator, Mr. Gobind Rai ,Course Co-ordinator, Fashion Design and all faculty and staff from NIIFT, Mohali, Ludhiana & Jalandhar.
