In a big to provide technical education to youth of rural areas and taking the wheel of development forward, Baba Maharaj Singh Government ITI, Malaud, was formally inaugurated by Punjab Vidhan Sabha speaker Dr Charanjit Singh Atwal and Cabinet Minister for Industry & Technical Education Mr Madan Mohan Mittal today. Constructed with the efforts of Dr Charanjit Singh Atwal, this ITI has been constructed with a cost of around Rs 6 crore and in a record time of 11 months. The academic session here would start from this year.While addressing the gathering after the Bhog of Shri Akhand Path Sahib, Dr Charanjit Singh Atwal said that Payal constituency is scaling new heights in terms of development. He said that whereas Judicial Court has started in Payal constituency, the constriction of a Nursing College has been started by the Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee in Jarg village. Besides this, crores have been spent on providing and strengthening basic infrastructure in the constituency. Dr Atwal said that after Malaud town became a block, 42 nearby villages are benefitting from it.He informed that the building of “Baba Maharaj Singh Government ITI” has been completed in record 11 months time. He said that for the time being, two courses (fitter and fashion technology) have been started here and admissions for them have already been started and the classes would start from this session. He said that from next year onwards, 11 courses would be started here, which would train both boys and girls of the area and help them becoming self dependent through skill development. 

Dr Atwal also thanked Chief Minister Mr Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy CM Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal for supporting him for the overall development of Payal constituency.While speaking on the occasion, Cabinet Minister Mr Madan Mohan Mittal said in next three months, four new ITI’s would be opened in the state. These ITI’s are located at Adampur (Jalandhar), Niari (Gurdaspur), Singhpura (Rupnagar) and Manakpur Sharif (Ajitgarh/Mohali). He said that an amount of around Rs 52 crore has been spent on the construction of these ITI’s. Mr Mittal said that keeping in mind the placement of students, the department organizes several Employment Fairs in different parts of the state as these help the students get employment immediately after they complete their studies. He informed that till date, the department has organized 50 Employment Fairs, which has helped 9816 students get placed.Bhai Rajinder Singh Kartarpur Wale performed Kirtan after the Bhog of Shri Akhand Path Sahib. Prominent among those present on the occasion included Department’s director Mr Dharampal Gupta, former MLA Mr Inder Iqbal Singh Atwal, Chairman Punjab Subordinate Services Selection Board Chairman Mr Santa Singh Umedpuri, SGPC members Bhai Gurcharan Singh Grewal, Jathedar Harpal Singh Jalla and Jathedar Raghbir Singh Saharanmajra, SDM Harjot Kaur, BJP district president Bikramjit Singh Cheema, Chairman Gurjit Singh Pandherkheri, vice chairman Varinderjit Singh Vicky Ber Kalan, former president Sanjeev Puri, besides several others.
