Canara Bank, Official Language Section, Human Resources Wing, Head Office, Bengaluru, successfully organised the All India Official Language Seminar in New Delhi on July 23, 2026. The event was graced by Smt. Anshuli Arya, Secretary, Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, as the Chief Guest.

The seminar was chaired by Shri Brajesh Kumar Singh, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, Canara Bank. Shri Vikram Duggal, Chief General Manager, Delhi Circle Office, delivered the welcome address. The seminar witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees of various banks and financial institutions, award winners, and representatives of member Offices of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (Banks & Insurance), Delhi.

Key objectives of the seminar were to promote the use of Hindi as the Official Language, encourage original writing in Hindi, and provide a platform for employees to showcase their literary and intellectual contributions.In his address, Shri Brajesh Kumar Singh, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, highlighted the growing importance of Hindi in banking operations and emphasised the vital role of the Official Language in delivering customer-centric banking services.

Addressing the gathering, Smt. Anshuli Arya, Secretary, Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, emphasized the importance of effective implementation of the Official Language Policy and the need to leverage technology for the wider use of Hindi in official work.

A special presentation on the effective implementation of the Official Language in Canara Bank, highlighting the Bank's initiatives aimed at promoting and further strengthening the use of Hindi in its day-to-day operations Smt. Sreekala Sreekumar, Assistant General Manager.On the occasion, the book titled "Banking ke Vividh Aayam" was released.

During the programme, winners of the Canara Bank All India Essay Writing Competition 2025–26 were felicitated with awards. The winning participants also delivered PowerPoint presentations based on their award-winning articles, which were well appreciated by the audience.

The seminar served as an effective platform for promoting the Official Language Hindi, encouraging original writing, and facilitating the exchange of ideas and best practices among banks and financial institutions. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks.
