Lashing out at People’s Democratic Party for pursuing anti-people policies, National Conference General Secretary Ali Muhammad Sagar Thursday said that two months old government has started flexing muscles on the peaceful and innocent protesters. “PDP is under the firm grip of BJP. This party came to power after giving hollow slogans and making false promises to the people. I ask them where is their healing touch, where is the slogan of battle of ideas and where are pro-people policies,” Sagar told CNS adding that PDP has failed miserably in providing a good government in the state.

Ali Muhammad Sagar said that PDP is going reverse. This party has talked about the releasing of political prisoners but instead of releasing them, this party is has started crack down on them. This party can’t take a single decision on its own. This is the party that revoked its order on Kashmir flag within a day,” Sagar said.

Sagar claimed that PDP is in no mood to provide space to dissent voices. “Battle of Idea’s was the party slogan before the elections and now it’s slogan is ‘suppression of ideas’. Government of India is giving a cold shoulder to this party. Leave aside the expansion of LOC Trade, even this party has failed to rehabilitate the flood victims,” Sagar said and condemned the police action on peaceful dailywagers in Srinagar city.
