MLA from Amritsar East Assembly constituency, Mrs. Jeevanjot Kaur, today inaugurated the construction work for modern sports infrastructure at the 7-acre park in Ward No. 35 (New Amritsar). She said that under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is continuously working to connect youth with sports and provide modern facilities to the people.
MLA Jeevanjot Kaur stated that the park is being developed in line with state-level sports infrastructure standards. Under the project, the park will soon have a synthetic jogging track, an acrylic-layer badminton court, basketball court, volleyball court, skating track and cricket pitches. She said that the project would encourage children, youth and people of all age groups in the area to adopt a healthy lifestyle and actively participate in sports activities.
She further said that the State Government aims to provide high-quality basic infrastructure and public amenities in every ward and locality so that balanced and planned urban development can be ensured. On the occasion, MLA Jeevanjot Kaur also interacted with local residents who had gathered at the park and patiently listened to their concerns and demands.
She directed the concerned officials to take necessary action for the early resolution of the issues raised by the residents. The MLA assured the residents that transforming the face of Ward No. 35 and ensuring timely availability of all essential facilities to the people remains her highest priority.
She said that no compromise would be made in development works and every project would be completed within the stipulated timeframe in line with the expectations of the people.
