Acting on the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann to ensure prompt redressal of public grievances and review ongoing development works, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) Sukhveer Singh today held a 'Lok Milni' programme at Ghanour Kalan village. During the programme, he interacted with residents, listened to their grievances and directed the concerned officials to ensure their time-bound resolution.
Addressing the gathering, Sukhveer Singh said that development works are being executed at a war footing in every village of the Dhuri Assembly constituency. He said that development projects worth around Rs. 5.45 crore have already been completed in Ghanour Kalan and adjoining areas, while road and infrastructure development works worth nearly Rs. 5.99 crore are in progress.
He said that the Punjab Government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has fulfilled every guarantee promised to the people before the Assembly elections. He further said that the benefits of various welfare initiatives, including the Chief Minister Mawan-Dheeyan Satkar Scheme, are reaching eligible beneficiaries across the State.
He added that the completion of the Malerkotla Minor Project will provide canal irrigation facilities to the area's farmers for the first time. Reiterating the government's commitment to the holistic development of the constituency, he assured the people that no genuine demand would be left unattended.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman, Punjab Small Industries and Export Corporation, Dalvir Singh Dhillon, said that under the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the 'Lok Milni' programme has emerged as an effective platform for direct interaction between the government and the people.
He said that the government is reaching the doorsteps of the people, listening to their grievances and ensuring the time-bound resolution of genuine demands. He added that the Punjab Government is making historic strides in canal water conservation, the campaign against drugs, education reforms and inclusive development, enabling the benefits of good governance to reach every section of society.
Sarpanch Jaswinder Singh said that the Panchayat is utilising development grants with complete transparency and accountability. He added that development works, including the construction of streets and drains, are progressing at a rapid pace and that more projects for the overall development of the village will soon be taken up with the support of the Punjab Government.
