Paying a lasting tribute to the timeless message of equality, compassion and harmony propagated by Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj, the Bhagwant Mann Government has launched a massive plantation drive to commemorate the 650th Parkash Purab of the revered Guru. As part of the initiative, 1.50 crore saplings will be planted across the state during 2026-27, including 6.50 lakh saplings in every district, making it one of Punjab’s largest environment conservation campaigns.

CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said the government had earlier also planted 3.50 lakh saplings in every district to mark the 350th Shaheedi Diwas of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, reaffirming its commitment to preserving both Punjab’s spiritual heritage and its natural environment. After distributing appointment letters to Daily Wage Workers of the Forest Department, CM Bhagwant Singhstated, “We have planted and are continuing to plant 1.50 crore saplings during 2026-27.

With the 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj approaching, we have decided to plant 6.50 lakh new saplings in every district. In the coming days, we will announce the entire mechanism and implementation plan for this campaign.”

Lauding the dedication of the Forest Department employees, CM Bhagwant Singh Mann said, “I am confident that all of you will continue to work with the same commitment and sincerity as you have done over the years. I am sure you will now work with even greater honesty and dedication.”

The Bhagwant Mann Government has also announced an ambitious plantation campaign to commemorate the 650th Parkash Purab of Sri Guru Ravidass Ji Maharaj, under which 6.5 lakh saplings will be planted in every district. As part of its broader environmental mission, 1.5 crore saplings will be planted across Punjab during 2026-27.

The initiative builds on the government’s sustained efforts to expand the state’s green cover, including the plantation of 3.5 lakh saplings in every district to mark the 350th Shaheedi Diwas of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.
