With preparations entering the final stage for the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) 2026, the Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Alyas Khan today conducted an on-site inspection of the langer sites at Chanderkote and Karol, besides the Yatri Niwas and other key facilities being established for the pilgrimage.

The DC reviewed the status of arrangements related to accommodation, sanitation, drinking water supply, power availability, healthcare services, traffic management and waste disposal at the sites and directed the concerned departments and executing agencies to ensure timely completion of all works and maintain high standards of quality.

He instructed officers to ensure uninterrupted water and power supply, proper sanitation, effective waste management and adequate medical arrangements at the langer sites, stressing that all facilities should be fully functional well before the commencement of the yatra.

During the inspection, the DC interacted with field officers, reviewed the progress of works on the ground and issued on-the-spot directions for expediting pending tasks, instructing the concerned agencies to maintain strict adherence to prescribed timelines.

The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak and other senior officers and officials from stakeholder departments associated with the yatra arrangements.
