Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varjeet Walia on Wednesday directed the Health Department and Social Security Department  to accelerate enrolment under the Punjab Government’s flagship Mukhya Mantri Sehat Yojna and Mavan Dhiyan Satkar Yojna so that every eligible resident of the district can avail the benefit of this schemes.

He stated that the Sehat Yojna will ensure cashless medical treatment up to Rs. 10 lakh to every family. Reviewing the progress of the scheme during a meeting with officials, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized that no deserving beneficiary should be left out of the health security cover being provided by the state government.

He asked officials to intensify awareness campaigns and conduct special enrolment drives at the grassroots level to ensure wider public participation in the scheme. The Deputy Commissioner said that the initiative aims to provide financial protection to families against expensive medical treatment and ensure accessible healthcare facilities for all sections of society.

He directed officials to organize more camps in urban as well as rural areas and ensure smooth registration facilities through Common Service Centres, Seva Kendras and designated camps. Mr. Walia also stressed the need for better coordination among the Health Department, district administration and field-level functionaries for effective implementation of the pro-people scheme.

He urged residents to complete their registration without delay to secure health coverage for their families. During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner also reviewed progress under the Mavan Dhiyan Satkar Yojna, aimed at providing financial assistance of Rs. 1,500 to eligible women from SC category and Rs. 1,000 to eligible women belonging to the General category.

Calling the scheme an important step towards women empowerment, he directed officials to hold more enrolment camps across the district. Besides this, Mr. Walia reviewed the functioning of the Revenue Department, progress under the Easy Property Registration Scheme and directed Sub-Registrars to ensure timely disposal of pending cases and completion of Jamabandis.
