Reaffirming the Punjab Government’s commitment to providing essential facilities to students studying in government schools, free school bags were distributed today among students of Classes XI and XII at various government schools in the Jandiala Guru Assembly constituency. Punjab Public Works Minister S. Harbhajan Singh E.T.O. attended the event as the chief guest.

While distributing school bags to students at the School of Eminence (Girls), Jandiala Guru, Government Senior Secondary School Dashmesh Nagar, Government Senior Secondary School Gehri Mandi, Government Senior Secondary School Johal, Government Senior Secondary School Bandala, Government Senior Secondary School Mallian and Government Senior Secondary School Khabbe Rajputan, the Minister said that under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is bringing about historic reforms in the education sector. 

He stated that government schools are being equipped with world-class education, modern infrastructure and all essential facilities, leading to a steady increase in public confidence in government education.He said that the objective of providing free school bags is not only to motivate students towards education but also to ease the financial burden on their parents. He added that these school bags would prove useful in students’ day-to-day academic activities and encourage them to pursue their studies with greater dedication.

S. Harbhajan Singh E.T.O. further said that the comprehensive reforms undertaken in the education sector have enabled Punjab to emerge as one of the leading states in the country. He reiterated that the government’s goal is to provide every child with quality, modern and equitable education so that they can fulfil their aspirations.

Encouraging the students, the Minister urged them to study with sincerity, hard work and discipline and bring pride to their parents, teachers and the state of Punjab. He emphasized that education is the strongest foundation for a successful, prosperous and bright future.The event was also attended by the principals of the schools, teaching staff, officials of the Education Department and other distinguished dignitaries.
