Punjab Horticulture, Freedom Fighters and Defence Services Welfare Minister Mohinder Bhagat and Advisor to the Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department Deepak Bali today flagged off the Damri Yatra for Haridwar by a special train from the local City Railway Station under the guidance of Sant Nirmal Dass Ji Jode Wale, Sant Pragat Nath and other saints and spiritual leaders.

On this occasion, Chabbewal MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar and Chairman District Planning Committee Amritpal Singh were also present. Addressing the gathering, the Cabinet Minister called upon people to adopt the teachings of Shri Guru Ravidas Maharaj Ji in their lives for the creation of an egalitarian society.

He said that Shri Guru Ravidas Ji gave the message of mutual love and brotherhood to the entire humanity. He said that Guru Ji’s teachings will always continue to guide mankind and inspire people to rise above differences of caste, religion and race.

Mr. Bhagat said that the Punjab Government is making tireless efforts to spread Guru Ravidas Ji’s message of universal brotherhood to every corner of the world. He also said that the state government has chalked out extensive programmes to celebrate the upcoming 650th Parkash Purab of Guru Ravidas Ji on a large scale.

Advisor to the Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department Deepak Bali extended greetings to the devotees for the Damri Yatra. He said that those nations always move forward and progress which remember their Gurus, saints and spiritual leaders and follow the path shown by them.

He said that the Punjab Government is also continuously working for the welfare and prosperity of every section of society by following the path shown by our great Gurus and saints. On this occasion, Sant Satwinder Heera, Behan Santosh, AAP leader Rajwinder Kaur Thiara, Dinesh Dhall, besides members of the Sant community and a large number of devotees, were present.
