Promising cricketer Krish Bhagat was accorded a warm welcome today by family members, local residents and cricket enthusiasts upon his arrival at his residence in Jalandhar. On this occasion, Punjab Horticulture, Freedom Fighters and Defence Services Welfare Minister Mohinder Bhagat, who is Krish Bhagat’s uncle, said that Krish Bhagat has brought pride to Punjab and the country through his hard work, dedication and talent.

He said that Krish has not only enhanced the prestige of Jalandhar but has also become a source of inspiration for the youth of the state by proving that any goal can be achieved through sincere hard work. Congratulating and blessing Krish, the Cabinet Minister said that getting an opportunity to play in the IPL with Mumbai Indians and alongside world-class players was a matter of great pride. 

Encouraging Krish Bhagat, he expressed hope that the day was not far when he would be seen playing for the Indian team. He also specially thanked the District Cricket Association, Punjab Cricket Association, along with the academies and coaches who played a significant role in helping the player achieve this milestone.

On the occasion, Krish Bhagat’s grandfather and former minister Chunni Lal Bhagat, father Ashwani Bhagat, mother Manu Bhagat, besides Atul Bhagat, Chandan Bhagat, Varun Bhagat, Sumesh, Isha Bhagat, Pragati Bhagat, Jagrati Bhagat, Laksh Bhagat and other family members were also present.

Cabinet Minister Mohinder Bhagat said that under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government has fostered a sports culture in the state. He added that the Mann Government is ensuring due recognition and respect for top sportspersons in Punjab.
