₹16.14 lakh compensation disbursed to kin of deceased construction worker in Vijaypur

Deputy Commissioner Samba, Ayushi Sudan, today disbursed compensation amounting to ₹16.14 lakh to the next of kin of a deceased construction worker under the provisions of the Employees’ Compensation Act. The deceased, Sabin Kumar, was employed as a construction labourer with MCCS, a subcontractor of Vishavsamundra Construction Pvt. Ltd., engaged in the construction of the New Delhi–Amritsar–Katra Highway Project. 

He lost his life due to land subsidence at Vijaypur while performing duties at the work site. Following the incident, the Assistant Labour Commissioner Office, Samba initiated prompt action and directed the subcontractor to comply with statutory provisions of the Employees’ Compensation Act. 

Accordingly, the compensation amount of ₹16,14,600 was deposited and disbursed to the brother of the deceased on behalf of the family. The District Administration Samba reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the rights and welfare of workers and ensuring timely disbursement of statutory compensation in cases of workplace accidents.
