Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta today here chaired a workshop on 'Capacity Building and Technological Intervention in the Jal Shakti Department.' Addressing the workshop, Shri Gupta stated that the present state government was committed to ensure clean and safe drinking water in every household across the State. 

He directed the Jal Shakti Department to fast-track compliance with mandatory conditions under the Jal Jeevan Mission as prescribed by the Government of India, so that the implementation targets can be achieved on time. Shri Gupta further said that funding-related issues under the scheme would be taken up with the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India.

The Chief Secretary highlighted the importance of technology in governance and urged the Jal Shakti Department to strengthen its digital infrastructure. He called for adopting a paperless, digital work culture to ensure transparent and efficient delivery of public services. 

He also stressed integrating modern technology into departmental processes for faster execution of government policies and directed more effective use of systems such as e-Office. He also stressed the need for prompt grievance redressal and asked the department to ensure quick disposal of complaints received through platforms like the CM Helpline.

Secretary Jal Shakti Department Dr. Abhishek Jain said that the department was actively promoting information technology and strengthening the e-Office system across the State. He said that coordination with the Department of Digital Technologies and Governance would be enhanced for skill development initiatives and regular workshops were being organised to improve the workforce’s knowledge of digital technologies.

Dr. Jain also informed that the process to fill vacant posts was underway to further strengthen the department. During the workshop pending payment of contractors were reviewed and technical sessions on digital skills and e-Office systems were held. Presentations were delivered by various zonal officers.

Engineer-in-Chief Anju Sharma, Engineer-in-Chief (Project) Dr. Dharmender and other senior officers of the department were present in the workshop.
