In a significant step towards ensuring well-being of the children in need of care and protection, the Sponsorship and Foster Care Approval Committee (SFCAC) approved 290 cases under the sponsorship component of the Mission Vatsalya Scheme at its meeting chaired by District Magistrate Reasi, Nidhi Malik, here today.
At the outset, District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) Sachin Sharma presented a comprehensive briefing on the cases received under the scheme. The Committee, headed by the District Magistrate, meticulously scrutinized all applications to ensure that eligible children receive the necessary financial and social support while continuing to live within their community and cultural environment.
The District Magistrate reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to create safe and secure environment for vulnerable children, enabling them to grow and thrive without displacement from their families or communities.The DM further emphasized that the approval of these cases stands as a testament administration’s dedication to safeguarding children’s rights and supporting their holistic development.
The meeting was attended by DCPO Sachin Sharma, the Chairperson of the Social Welfare Committee Reasi and other committee members, reflecting a strong collaborative effort to uplift and empower children through strategic welfare initiatives.
