The second randomization to deploy polling staff for the Ludhiana West by-election in the presence of the General Observer Rajeev Kumar, IAS, District Election Officer Himanshu Jain on Monday. Additional Deputy Commissioner Shikha Bhagat, Additional Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer for Ludhiana West Rupinder Pal Singh, DIO NIC Neeraj Garg among others were present during randomization.
Using the NextGen DISE software, the randomization was held for deployment of 936 officials (234 Presiding Officers (PROs), 234 Assistant Presiding Officers (APROs), and 468 Polling Officers—from centre and state governments, banks and public sector undertakings in 234 polling parties including 20-percent reserve parties using the software NextGen DISE.
Duty orders for the 936 officials were generated post-randomization and will be delivered through their respective Heads of Departments (HODs). They have to attend the second rehearsal on June 12 at Khalsa College for Women, Ludhiana. The polling for Ludhiana West by-election will be held on June 19 from 7 am to 6 pm and the results will be announced on June 23.
A total of 194 polling booths including two auxiliary polling booths would be set up for Ludhiana West by-election.
