The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) International Student Chapter of Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh proudly hosted Reconnaissance 2025, a three-day technical fest in the institute. Since its establishment in 2014, this technical society has been organising technical events annually which are attended by many institutes in the region. 

This event attracted over 100 participants from leading institutions, including PEC, Chandigarh University, Aligarh Muslim University, Thapar University etc. The inaugural session featured Sh. Rakesh Goyal, Chairperson of RERA-Punjab, who inspired attendees with insights on balancing dedication and time management. 

Industry leaders Sh. Gaurav Goyal, Managing Director of EVOQ Realtech, and  Mohit Bansal CEO GMI Infra , shared their expertise, highlighting challenges and opportunities in the real estate sector. Prof. S.K. Singh, Head of the Civil Engineering Department, in his welcome speech coaxed the students to participate in such activities and that too held under the ASCE banner.

He also appreciated the organizing team led by Dr. Har Amrit Singh Sandhu to plan these technical events, which will help students to understand the importance of interdisciplinary learning and integrating advanced technologies into civil engineering education. Dr. Arshdeep Singh delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks to all participants and sponsors. 

The inaugural event was graced by senior faculty members Prof. Shakti Arora and Prof. Sovina Sood also. The host team secured first place in four events: Concrete Frisbee, Autocad Challenge, Bridge It, and Energy Efficient Building, while Chandigarh University claimed first place in the Dome It event. 

The winning team in the Dome It event consisted of Himanshu, Priyanshu, Aishwarya, Varinder, and Purneet. The Bridge It event was won by Akashdeep Singh, Jatin Sharma, Abhishek Sharma, while Harikesh. Ishaan Trikha and Mithilesh took first place in the AutoCAD Challenge. 

The Energy Efficient Building event was won by Kushagr, Kaushal, and Bhaumik Sethi, while Anuj, Sukhmeet Jindal, Yogi Bansal, and Shivam secured first place in the Concrete Frisbee event. The valedictory ceremony was graced by Sh. Gautam Kumar, Senior Town Planner, as Chief Guest, commended participants’ innovative spirit and presented certificates and prizes to the winners. 

This event was sponsored by EVOQ Realtech, GMI Infra, Rakhra Associates, STP, Ultratech Cement, AA Consultants, Pro Ultimate Gym, ASCE India Section North Region, Fateh Education, apart from the seed money from the institute. The event concluded with gratitude expressed by Mr. Rishant Thakur (Secretary, ASCE PEC) and Ms. Palak Sharma (Jt. ASCE PEC), who delivered the vote of thanks and encouraged junior students to keep on organising such events. 

They acknowledged the contributions of participants, sponsors, and volunteers and also thanked the management of institutions for supporting such events.
