Jana Small Finance Bank Ltd. took a significant step towards environmental sustainability by handing over Dry Leaf Composters (DLCs) to Patiala Foundation in a formal ceremony today. This initiative aligns with the bank’s commitment to ecological conservation and community welfare.

The composters, an innovative initiative by Patiala Foundation, will aid in converting dry leaves into organic manure, reducing waste accumulation, and promoting sustainable waste management practices. 

This collaboration marks a major step towards encouraging environmentally responsible behavior and fostering a greener future. A total of 100 household DLCs and 10 community DLCs were handed over by the bank to the foundation. 

These composters will be dedicated to the community and installed free of cost by Patiala Foundation under Project PRITHVI. Speaking at the event, Mr. Ravee Singh Ahluwalia, CEO of Patiala Foundation, emphasized the urgent need to address climate change in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs). He stated:

“Environmental sustainability is not just a choice but a necessity. By adopting eco-friendly solutions like composting, we can significantly reduce our carbon footprint and contribute to a healthier planet. 

Collective efforts at the grassroots level will play a crucial role in combating climate change and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.” The event was graced by Mr. N.P. Sharma, Chief Engineer, PWD Patiala Division and Mr. G.S. Sikand PPS, DSP Samana, as SPECIAL INVITEES. 

Mr. Anil Khurana, Associate Vice President, Area Head-Government, TASC & FIG Business (Punjab, Haryana & Himachal) Jana Small Finance Bank Ltd., reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to green initiatives, stating:

“The Bank remains dedicated to supporting sustainability efforts that positively impact the environment and society. This partnership with Patiala Foundation is another step towards building a more eco-conscious and sustainable community.

Today, commemorates the seventh year of establishment of Jana Bank and this CSR activity resonates with the ideology of the bank.” He was accompanied by Mr. Saurabh Kumar regional head Punjab Haryana and Mr. Mandeep Singh branch manager Leela bhawan Patiala.

The event was also attended by officials from Jana Small Finance Bank, members of Patiala Foundation, including Dr. R.K. Sharma, Mr. H.S. Ahluwalia, Harpreet Sandhu, Dr. Nidhi Sharma, Dr.Karan Dang, Dr.Abhinandan Bassi, Mr.SP Chand, Mr.Pawan Goyal, Mr,Rakesh Badhwar, Mr.Rakesh Goyal, Mr. Satinderjit Gill, Mr. Vikram Malhotra, Mr. Rahul Sharma Mr. Manvinder Singh along with Interns from RCSS Kerala and Green Ambassadors of Patiala Foundation.
