The Punjab Government is committed to keeping the youth away from drugs and providing them employment by facilitating their recruitment into the defence services along with promoting sports. This was stated by Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Balbir Singh and Patiala Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal while acquainting the youth with special flex boards installed at the local Polo Ground to provide information regarding recruitment into the defence services.

Dr. Balbir Singh said that these flex boards contain essential information regarding the required physical standards, educational qualifications, selection process and preparation for recruitment in simple and easy language. The objective is to provide timely, accurate and reliable information to the youth so that they can prepare in the right direction and fulfil their dreams of serving the nation.

The Health Minister said that the main objective of the Punjab Government is to save the youth of the state from the menace of drugs and connect them with constructive fields such as employment, sports and national service. He said that this unique initiative has been undertaken under the "War Against Drugs" campaign being carried out under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann.

He said that these informative flex boards have been issued by the Chief Minister and have been prepared by the District Administration and the District Bureau of Employment and Enterprises, Patiala under the able leadership of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal. Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal said that these flex boards will be installed at around 400 playgrounds across Patiala district so that the maximum number of youth and students can benefit from this information.

He said that children and youth visiting these playgrounds will not only be motivated to join the security forces but will also stay away from drugs and focus on sports, health and building their future. The DC said that the Punjab Government's "War Against Drugs" campaign is focused on three major aspects—strict action against drug traffickers, rehabilitation of youth affected by drug addiction, and making children aware from an early age about the harmful effects of drugs so that they remain away from this social evil.

With this vision, this initiative has been launched to connect children and youth with sports, discipline and national service. The District Administration expressed confidence that this initiative will play an important role in motivating youth in the right direction, strengthening their spirit of national service, and creating a drug-free, healthy and vibrant Punjab.

This initiative will also encourage young people to plan their future according to their abilities and motivate them to move towards a safe, healthy and bright future.
