In a significant move to bolster irrigation management in the district, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir today convened a meeting with the Irrigation Department at V.C Room of DC Office, here. The meeting was aimed to review and expedite the ongoing and approved irrigation works and devise effective strategies for optimal irrigation facilities across Ganderbal.

During the meeting, the DC meticulously assessed the progress of works sanctioned under the convergence with MGNREGA and other departmental initiatives. Highlighting a significant concern, the DC directed the engineering wing of I&FC to identify households discharging waste into the canals and to develop a robust mechanism for treating such discharges.
