The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir Thursday led the inauguration of a significant plantation campaign at Tara Gali, Badarkund area in Ganderbal. This plantation initiative was organized by the District Administration in collaboration with NLCO under Mission 50,000, a pivotal component of the Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) program.
The event witnessed the enthusiastic participation of various stakeholders including ACD Ganderbal, Dr Bashir Ahmad; DFO Sindh Forest Division Ganderbal, Danish Khan; CPO, Shahnawaz Khan; Chairman NLCO, Manzoor Ahmad Wangnoo; DFO Social Forestry Ganderbal, DIO Ganderbal, students from diverse educational institutions, and local residents.
Addressing the attendees, the DC complimented all the concerned for this green initiative adding that we have also achieved the slogan of one plant one vote, and till date over two lakh plants have been planted in the district. He appealed to all eligible voters to cast their votes with the same enthusiasm as shown during the plantation drive.
On the occasion the DC also appreciated the NLCO for rejuvenating the spring in the locality. The DC also solicited the cooperation of the community in safeguarding and nurturing the planted saplings, emphasizing the collective responsibility towards environmental conservation.
The mega plantation drive underscores the District Administration's commitment to environmental sustainability and civic engagement, marking a significant step towards a greener and more participatory future.
