In the run-up to the smooth conduct of the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections-2024, the first round of training was held by the District Administration at Mohali, Kharar and Derabassi, said the District Election Officer Mrs Aashika Jain. She said that after the randomisation of polling staff, a total of 5448 polling personnel including Presiding Officers, Assistant Presiding Officers and Polling Officers were randomly picked by the software for training purposes.
As per the directions of the Election Commission of India and Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab, today the first training session was held to apprise the polling staff of the Hands-on training on EVMs and VVPATs, their election duties, formats of reports they have to submit on the day of polling, to handle the petty issues with EVMs by Videos and PPT by Master Trainers and Sector Supervisors.
They were also told to ensure mock polls on EVMs before starting actual polling in front of the polling agents of the various contenders. She further said that the duty to the election to the House of People (Lok Sabha) needs utmost care so a total of four training sessions would be conducted in the district before the polling. The training was conducted in two sessions today, morning and afternoon in classrooms to equip the staff with the technicalities of the polling day and election preparedness.
The Deputy Commissioner accompanied by the Additional District Election Officer, Viraj S Tidke, ADC (Urban Development) Damanjit Singh Mann, ADC (D) Sonam Chaudhary and Land Acquisition Officer GMADA Jasleen Sandhu visited the School of Eminence, Phase 3B1, Mohali, Government Polytechnic College, Khooni Majra in Kharar and Government College Derabassi and briefed the Sub Divisional Magistrates-cum- Assistant Returning Officers, Dipankar Garg Mohali, Gurmandar Singh Kharar and Himanshu Gupta Derabassi about the procedure and importance of election training.

ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਚੋਣ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਆਸ਼ਿਕਾ ਜੈਨ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਆਗਾਮੀ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ-2024 ਨੂੰ ਸੁਚਾਰੂ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਨੇਪਰੇ ਚਾੜ੍ਹਨ ਦੇ ਮੱਦੇਨਜ਼ਰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮੁਹਾਲੀ, ਖਰੜ ਅਤੇ ਡੇਰਾਬੱਸੀ ਵਿਖੇ ਚੋਣ ਅਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਦਾ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਦੀ ਰੈਂਡਮਾਈਜ਼ੇਸ਼ਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, ਪ੍ਰੀਜ਼ਾਈਡਿੰਗ ਅਫ਼ਸਰਾਂ, ਸਹਾਇਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਜ਼ਾਈਡਿੰਗ ਅਫ਼ਸਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਅਫ਼ਸਰਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਕੁੱਲ 5448 ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਕਰਮਚਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਦੇ ਉਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਲਈ ਸਾਫ਼ਟਵੇਅਰ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਚੋਣ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਚੋਣ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ-ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਅੱਜ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਨੂੰ ਈ.ਵੀ.ਐਮ ਅਤੇ ਵੀ.ਵੀ.ਪੀ.ਏ.ਟੀ., ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੋਣ ਡਿਊਟੀਆਂ, ਰਿਪੋਰਟਾਂ ਦੇ ਫਾਰਮੈਟਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਆਯੋਜਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ। ਮਾਸਟਰ ਟ੍ਰੇਨਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੈਕਟਰ ਸੁਪਰਵਾਈਜ਼ਰਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਵੀਡੀਓਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਪੀਪੀਟੀ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਈਵੀਐਮਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਮੁਸ਼ਕਿਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੂਰ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵੱਖ ਵੱਖ ਢੰਗ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ।
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਏਜੰਟਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਅਸਲ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਈਵੀਐਮ 'ਤੇ ਮੌਕ ਪੋਲਾ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਦੀ ਚੋਣ ਲਈ ਡਿਊਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਵਧਾਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਨਿਭਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁੱਲ ਚਾਰ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਜਾਣਗੇ। ਇਹ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਅੱਜ ਦੋ ਸੈਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਦੁਪਹਿਰ ( ਕਲਾਸ ਰੂਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ) ਸਟਾਫ ਨੂੰ ਮਤਦਾਨ ਦਿਵਸ ਅਤੇ ਚੋਣ ਤਿਆਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਤਕਨੀਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੈਸ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਗਈ।
ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਨੇ ਵਧੀਕ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਚੋਣ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਵਿਰਾਜ ਐਸ ਤਿੜਕੇ, ਏਡੀਸੀ (ਸ਼ਹਿਰੀ ਵਿਕਾਸ) ਦਮਨਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਮਾਨ, ਏਡੀਸੀ (ਡੀ) ਸੋਨਮ ਚੌਧਰੀ ਅਤੇ ਭੂਮੀ ਗ੍ਰਹਿਣ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਗਮਾਡਾ ਜਸਲੀਨ ਸੰਧੂ ਨਾਲ ਸਕੂਲ ਆਫ਼ ਐਮੀਨੈਂਸ, ਫੇਜ਼ 3ਬੀ1, ਮੁਹਾਲੀ, ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਪੌਲੀਟੈਕਨਿਕ ਕਾਲਜ, ਖੂਨੀ ਮਾਜਰਾ (ਖਰੜ) ਅਤੇ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਡੇਰਾਬੱਸੀ ਦਾ ਦੌਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਪ ਮੰਡਲ ਮੈਜਿਸਟਰੇਟ-ਕਮ-ਸਹਾਇਕ ਰਿਟਰਨਿੰਗ ਅਫਸਰਾਂ, ਦੀਪਾਂਕਰ ਗਰਗ ਮੁਹਾਲੀ, ਗੁਰਮੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਖਰੜ ਅਤੇ ਹਿਮਾਂਸ਼ੂ ਗੁਪਤਾ ਡੇਰਾਬੱਸੀ ਨੂੰ ਚੋਣ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਦੀ ਵਿਧੀ ਅਤੇ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ।
