In a significant collaborative effort to bolster voter awareness for the ongoing General Elections 2024, Secretary, J&K Advisory Board for Development of Pahari Speaking People and Nodal Officer for Media, Office of Chief Electoral Officer, J&K, Sapna Kotwal, today held a meeting with Justice Tashi Rabstan, Judge, High Court of J&K and Ladakh and Executive Chairman, J&K Legal Services Authority.

Among others the meeting was attended by Member Secretary, J&K Legal Services Authority, Amit Kumar Gupta and Deputy Information Officer, Nodal Officer SVEEP, Office of Chief Electoral Officer, J&K, Akhtar Qazi. During the meeting, a detailed fact-sheet for the constituencies of Srinagar, Baramulla and Anantnag for the Lok Sabha Polls was placed before Justice Tashi, outlining the extensive efforts of the UT election office to disseminate awareness among the electorates about the significance of voting in a democratic set up.

Kotwal sought support from Justice Tashi Rabstan in spreading awareness among the masses about the importance of exercising their democratic right to choose their representative through District Legal Services Authorities in their respective jurisdiction. Justice Tashi assured full cooperation in making these elections a successful festival of democracy. 

He instructed the Member Secretary, J&K LSA, to direct all the District Legal Services Authorities in Kashmir division to plan activities in coordination with the Nodal Officers of the Election Department appointed in various districts.
