For facilitating the voters on the polling day (June 1) of Lok Sabha-2024 elections, auxiliary polling stations would be established at the polling stations where the count of voters exceeds 1500.
This was stated by District Election Officer (DEO)-cum-Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sakshi Sawhney while holding a meeting with the representatives of different political parties in her office on Wednesday. DEO Sawhney was accompanied by ADC Major Amit Sareen among other officials.
DEO Sawhney said that auxiliary stations are set up at the polling stations with more than 1500 voters. The auxiliary polling stations would be in addition to the polling station already established at the respective location.
The auxiliary stations are established in the same building, so that the voters do not have to stand in long queues and the voting process is completed without any delay. The representatives of political parties were apprised that auxiliary polling stations would be established at two polling stations in Ludhiana Lok Sabha constituency. One in Government Senior Secondary School, Dhandari Khurd (Sahnewal) and the other in Government High School (elementary section) in Lohara (Ludhiana South).
The auxiliary station in Government Senior Secondary School, Dhandari Khurd would be established for voters residing in New Durga Colony and Dhandrai Khurd, while the auxiliary station in Government High School , Lohara will be established for voters residing in Karamjit Nagar, Mukhtiar Nagar, Suman HERO Nagar and Astha colony. These details are also being shared with the Election Commission of India.
DEO Sawhney said that an additional polling party would be deployed for looking after the operations of the auxiliary polling station. A voter assistance desk would also be established to guide the voters on the polling day. Meanwhile DEO Sawhney apprised the representatives of different political parties about the nomination process for the candidates and what steps/precautions they need to take while filing nomination papers.
An appeal was also made to the political parties to apply online for permissions for holding any rallies, public meetings etc. 48 hours prior to the event. The parties can apply for permissions through the Suvidha online portal.
Further the representatives were also directed to take consent of owners before installing a flag/hoarding etc. on a private property and that consent letter has to be submitted with the concerned authorities, otherwise strict action will be taken in accordance with the provisions of Model Code of Conduct. Meanwhile, DEO Sawhney reiterated the commitment of the administration and police to hold free, fair and transparent Lok Sabha elections.

ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ-2024 ਦੇ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ (1 ਜੂਨ ਨੂੰ) ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹੂਲਤ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ 1500 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਵਾ, ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਚੋਣ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ-ਕਮ-ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਸਾਕਸ਼ੀ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਸਿਆਸੀ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕੀਤਾ। ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਚੋਣ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਵਧੀਕ ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ (ਜ) ਮੇਜਰ ਅਮਿਤ ਸਰੀਨ ਸਮੇਤ ਹੋਰ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਵੀ ਮੌਜੂਦ ਸਨ।
ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਚੋਣ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ 1500 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਵਾਲੇ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਬਣਾਏ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਸਹਾਇਕ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨ, ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਬਿਲਡਿੰਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੰਬੀਆਂ ਕਤਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਖੜ੍ਹਨਾ ਪਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਵੋਟਿੰਗ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੇਰੀ ਦੇ ਮੁਕੰਮਲ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ।
ਸਿਆਸੀ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਹਲਕੇ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਸੈਕੰਡਰੀ ਸਕੂਲ ਢੰਡਾਰੀ ਖੁਰਦ (ਸਾਹਨੇਵਾਲ) ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜਾ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਹਾਈ ਸਕੂਲ (ਐਲੀਮੈਂਟਰੀ ਸੈਕਸ਼ਨ) ਲੋਹਾਰਾ (ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਦੱਖਣੀ) ਵਿਖੇ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹਨ।
ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਸੈਕੰਡਰੀ ਸਕੂਲ ਢੰਡਾਰੀ ਖੁਰਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਊ ਦੁਰਗਾ ਕਲੋਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਢੰਡਾਰੀ ਖੁਰਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਜਦਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਹਾਈ ਸਕੂਲ, ਲੋਹਾਰਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਮਜੀਤ ਨਗਰ, ਮੁਖਤਿਆਰ ਨਗਰ, ਸੁਮਨ ਹੀਰੋ ਨਗਰ ਅਤੇ ਆਸਥਾ ਕਲੋਨੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਇਹ ਵੇਰਵੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਚੋਣ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਸਾਂਝੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ।
ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਚੋਣ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਕੰਮਕਾਜ ਦੀ ਦੇਖਭਾਲ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਧੂ ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਤਾਇਨਾਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ। ਪੋਲਿੰਗ ਵਾਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਵੋਟਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਾਰਗਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਵੋਟਰ ਹੈਲਪ ਡੈਸਕ ਵੀ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਚੋਣ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਨੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ ਪ੍ਰਕਿਰਿਆ ਬਾਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਮਜ਼ਦਗੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਦਾਖਲ ਕਰਨ ਸਮੇਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹੜੇ ਕਦਮਾਂ/ਸਾਵਧਾਨੀ ਵਰਤਣ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੈ, ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਣੂ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ।
ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਤੋਂ 48 ਘੰਟੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਰੈਲੀਆਂ, ਜਨਤਕ ਮੀਟਿੰਗਾਂ ਆਦਿ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨਗੀ ਲਈ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਅਪਲਾਈ ਕਰਨ। ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਸੁਵਿਧਾ ਆਨਲਾਈਨ ਪੋਰਟਲ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਪ੍ਰਵਾਨਗੀ ਲਈ ਅਰਜ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਨੁਮਾਇੰਦਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਹਦਾਇਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਜਾਇਦਾਦ 'ਤੇ ਝੰਡਾ/ਹੋਰਡਿੰਗ ਆਦਿ ਲਗਾਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮਾਲਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਸਹਿਮਤੀ ਲੈਣ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਸਹਿਮਤੀ ਪੱਤਰ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੋਲ ਜਮ੍ਹਾ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਆਦਰਸ਼ ਚੋਣ ਜਾਬਤੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਵਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।
ਇਸ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਚੋਣ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ਸਾਹਨੀ ਨੇ ਲੋਕ ਸਭਾ ਚੋਣਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ, ਨਿਰਪੱਖ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਰਦਰਸ਼ੀ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੀ ਵਚਨਬੱਧਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਦੁਹਰਾਇਆ।
