The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab launched a scathing attack on Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) president Sukhbir Singh Badal and SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia for telling lies on the issue of Prof. Bhullar's premature release. AAP called their lies an attempt to create unrest in Punjab as Badals are now out of power here.
Addressing a press conference from the party office in Chandigarh on Tuesday, AAP Punjab chief spokesperson Malvinder Singh Kang, along with party spokespersons Govinder Mittal and Vikram Passi, said that Akali leaders are in agony because they have been completely rejected by the people of Punjab.
They cannot digest being rejected and finished. So, everyday they are serving new lies to the people of Punjab. SAD (Badal) party, especially Bikram Singh Majithia, is trying to disturb peace in Punjab for their political benefits. That is why they are politicising the matter of Bandi singhs' release.
Kang said that there is a 7 member sentence review board for the matter of Prof Devender Pal Singh Bhullar's release, it has one AAP's Delhi cabinet minister (jail minister) Kailash Gehlot as member and six members belong to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), an old ally of SAD (Badal).Kang, showing the minutes of the board meeting, told the media that only the AAP minister demanded the premature release of Prof Bhullar.
AAP jail minister said that Devender Pal Bhullar should be related because, he has been behind bars for more than 25 years, his home town police have given NOC to his release and his physical and mental health is not very good.All other six members voted against his release, so with the majority of 6:1 Bhullar's premature release case was rejected.
Kang said that SAD (Badal) leaders are so shameless that there is an old video of Sukhbir Singh Badal where he is calling all the Bandi Singhs terrorists and despite being in power in state and at centre with the BJP, Shiromani Akali Dal has never done anything for Sikhs or Bandi Singh.
Kang said that Majithia is the same person who first criticised Amritpal to please a certain group of people, but after the action of Punjab police, he sided with Amritpal to please the opposite group of people. Sp it is clear that they only want to disturb peace in Punjab, provoke the people of Punjab by misleading them against the AAP government and CM Bhagwant Mann and take some political advantage out of the situation.
Kang further said that the people of Punjab will never buy these lies of Badal and Majithia ever again. They know SAD's reality too well now. Everyone knows that Shiromani Akali Dal Badal has never done anything for the panth, sikhs and Punjab, they always do things for their personal interests. So, SAD's attempt to gain sympathy here will fail miserably.
Kang also dared Sukhbir Badal and Bikram Majithia to ask the same questions to the BJP and Narendra Modi because they are the ones stopping the release of Bandi Singh. He asked, will the SAD leaders stage any protest against the six BJP members of SRB who opposed Bhullar's release.
Do they have guts to even say a word to Modi like the things they say about our Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal? Kang added that even today if the BJP beckons SAD for an alliance, Badal and Majithia will go on their knees to join them. Kang challenged the SAD leaders to tell the people of Punjab that they will never do an alliance with the BJP who have betrayed Punjab time and again.
