Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik today said that there was no need to worry about fuel supply in the district as the district administration was keeping a close eye on the situation. She also said that supply of fuel will be ensured and people should not go for panic buying.

While chairing the meeting with depot heads of oil companies including Indian Oil Corporation, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited in her office, DC Surabhi Malik said that these companies had been asked to ensure supply of fuel and LPG remain unaffected due to the strike of transporters through internal arrangements.

She was also accompanied by Joint Commissioner of Police Saumya Mishra, ADCs Gautam Jain and Rupinderpal Singh, ACA GLADA Amarjit Bains, besides others. She said that the district administration would offer every kind of support to the companies in facilitating the supply to the fuel stations.

The DC said that the Bhagwant Singh Mann led Punjab government was holding talks with the appropriate authorities and striking transporters to resolve the issue promptly. The Deputy Commissioner also warned that any kind of hoarding by the petrol pumps or anyone will not be tolerated.
