On the eve of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Social Welfare Department Kulgam today organised a day long awareness cum interaction program for persons with disabilities of district Kulgam at Auditorium of Mini Secretariat, here.
The programme was presided over by the DDC Chairperson Kulgam, M Afzal Parray and was attended by Officers and Officials of Social Welfare department, President Bar Association Kulgam, Resource persons from DLSA and District Hospital Kulgam and Persons with Disabilities of district Kulgam.
The participants were made aware about various schemes and programs of the govt for the welfare of the specially abled persons.An interactive session to address the specific grievances of the participants was held before the culmination of the program.
A complimentary medical check up camp was also organised in collaboration with CMO Kulgam during which free medical checkup of the participants was carried out and free medicines were also distributed.
