162 volunteers donate blood

NSS and NCC volunteers of Rayat Bahra University in collaboration with Shiv Kanwar Mahasang Charitable Trust, Panchkula, organized a blood donation camp here today where a total of 162 volunteers donated blood.Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor of Rayat Bahra University, who inaugurated the camp, donated blood which motivated others to come forward and donate blood.

Prof major A S Chahal chief coordinator NSS/NCC wing informed that the camp was organized by the NSS/NCC Department of Rayat Bahra University with the support of all schools/colleges. Also present on the occasion were Dr Parvinder Singh, Vice-Chancellor, and Dr Dinesh Sharma, Registrar of Rayat Bahra University Pankaj Kaul Dean USAHS, Prof SK Bansal Dean Academic & other deans and faculty members.

Speaking on the occasion Gurvinder Singh Bahra said that blood donation was a noble cause as blood was a gift of life. A blood donor could help save precious lives. He gave a clarion call to the staff and students to make blood donation a way of life as this was a great service to humanity.Refreshments were served to the donors at the camp. A team of doctors and paramedics was present to collect blood.
