Arranged by Tehzeeb-The Culture Of Love Society Daastaan-e-Sahir was performed by the internationally acclaimed artists Himanshu Bajpai & Pragya Sharma of Lucknow at Sahir Auditorium in SCD Govt. College, Ludhiana.
This lively Dastongoi was arranged in coordination with the Alumni Association of the college. Principal Prof. Dr Tanveer Likhari welcomed guests and the performers telling about Sahir’s literary achievements.
In this brilliant performance, the artists kept the Ludhiana audience and students spell bound for two hours when Sahir’s journey from Ludhiana to Mumbai was rendered in the dialogue format. Sahir’s domestic life at Ludhiana and Mumbai and his Bollywood career was beautifully spoken by the artists to the surprise of many with new facts about Sahir’s Life .
Virtually, the artists made the beloved poet from Ludhiana in his college live again for the audience.Anil Bharti, Chairman of Tehzeeb Society And acclaimed poet Mukesh Alam said that Sahir’s poetry & lyrics contributed immensely for the progressive poetry in Urdu & Hindi in Pre-Independence and Post Independence of India.
Shivdular Singh Dhillon IAS (retd.) and Ashim Nagpal Alumni were guests of honor. Alumni Association Executive members Ashok Dheer, Brij Bhushan Goyal, O P Verma PCS (retd.) , Prof. PD Gupta and Geetanjli were also present among many others. Ms. Chhaya an alumnus conducted the stage.
Goyal, The Organizing Secretary of the association thanked Tehzeeb Society for making this stellar performance about Sahir available in the college. Later, the artists saw Sahir's college time pics on walls of the college and said that their wish was fulfilled as they wanted to perform in Sahir’s college. All expenses were borne by Tehzeeb .
