The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohi-Ud-Din Bhat today visited Imam Bara at Shahoo Sachan area of the district to oversee the arrangements put in place for ensuing Muharram-ul-Haram by various departments.

During his visit, the DC took detailed stock of arrangements put in place by various departments to facilitate the people during the days of Muharram-ul-Haram.He instructed the concerned officers to synergize efforts to ensure smooth conduct of Muharram-ul-Haram and extend all requisite facilities to the devotees.

The Department of PHE and PDD were asked to ensure adequate water and electricity supply with foolproof standby arrangements.The concerned officers were directed by the DC to install street lights on roads leading to Imam baras and to provide requisite facilities to the people throughout the Muharram days.

He also interacted with the people and representatives of the Shia community and listened to their issues and demands.ADC Viqar Ahmed Giri, ACR Mir Imtiyaz Ul Aziz, ACD Mohammad Imran, CMO, Tehsildar Devsar and Pahloo, AEEs of PHE and PDD, and other officials accompanied the DC during the visit.
